ONLINE THERAPY
Have you been feeling down, hopeless, or overwhelmed by events? Maybe you’ve recently experienced a major life change, such as an international move, the loss of a loved one, a new job or study program and it all feels like too much too handle? Perhaps you are feeling stuck at this point in your life, and need a helping hand, someone to talk to, who will listen without judgement and bounce thoughts, feelings, and ideas off.
I will meet you right where you are. Literally.
I provide online therapy to clients internationally. Expats often have difficulty accessing high quality mental health care in their native language. Furthermore, travel and busy schedules often interfere with regular sessions, and these issues are more easily addressed when you can connect from the comfort of your own home, a hotel room, even a private office. Working online with a therapist can also provide more discretion: no running into anyone in the waiting room… and sometimes, when all you can muster is a call from beneath the blankets in bed, at least this format enables you to get the help you need, when you need it. Yet for others, it might be reassuring to have a screen between us. Regardless, help is here. Let’s make it as easy as possible for you to get started on your journey to a happier and healthier you.
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Nicola (she/her), I am an experienced therapist offering person-centred psychological counselling and therapy to adults and adolescents. I work in English, French and German. As an expat and a third-culture kid myself, I understand the unique challenges faced by expats, third culture kids, international students, adolescents, and parents navigating difficult transitions and cross-cultural environments. I also strive to offer a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for the LGBTQ+ community as well as for neurodivergent individuals.
I am currently based in Dresden, Germany, where I occasionally meet clients face to face. Otherwise, you can find me online on the other side of this screen, sometimes alone, but often accompanied by my dog Puddles or one of my two cats, Bella and Fenn, who love to provide unsolicited editing assistance on my keyboard.

My therapeutic style is warm, authentic and direct, but never confrontational, with the goal of gently challenging you and offering you feedback, in order to help you address and work through patterns and issues. My aim is to work collaboratively with you, always with empathy and respect, to address your unique needs and goals. I will bring my academic background and three decades worth of professional expertise, and you will bring the unique understanding of what it feels like to be you, to have lived your experiences and to be living your life. Whether you're seeking a space to unload and gain clarity, or you're looking to understand, heal, and grow from your past experiences, I’m here to support you.
THERAPY WITHOUT JUDGEMENT
NEURODIVERSITY-AFFIRMING THERAPY
The world is a complicated place, for everyone. If, on top of all the regular stresses of life, you experience the world in a neurodivergent way, it can lead to a permanent feeling of exhaustion, overwhelm, and feeling as though you are constantly on edge. This can cause feelings of depression and isolation. Like everyone else, you deserve a safe space in which to work through whatever struggles life has laid on your feet: life transitions, moving, relationships, work stress... Through personal family experience, and continued professional training, I have strived to develop a more inclusive, supportive and affirming space for neurodivergent individuals - specifically to work with those who are gifted, have ADHD, dyslexia, or are on the autism spectrum.
LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY SPACE
I am a cis-gender, straight female, whose queer loved ones have taught me the importance of educating myself about the experience of being part of the LGBTQ+ community. While it hasn’t been my lived experience, I recognise the discrimination and subsequent exhaustion that many face daily. Sadly, many mental health issues are caused and aggravated by the shame the world imparts on those who do not conform to the expected version of their gender or sexuality. I am currently undergoing further professional training to better understand and meet the specific needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. My aim is to support LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, in a therapeutic space that is respectful, confidential, informed and, most importantly, safe.
